New City Fellowship began May 15, 1994 around the vision to be a cross-cultural church, ministering to black and white, rich and poor, male and female, young and old.  As a PCA congregation, we believe in the full inspiration of the Scriptures, and seek to preach the whole counsel of God to the whole person.

Job 1:1-5 “The Righteousness of Job”

Meditation: James 5:10-11  As an example of suffering and patience, brothers, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.  Behold, we consider those blessed who remained steadfast. You have heard of the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful.

Summary: Does Job really believe he is without sin? How are God’s people seen righteous in His sight? Do the righteous always prosper in comfort and wealth? Job was what the NT would call, “a man above reproach.” His hope was in a Redeemer who would come and be a meditator to appease God’s just wrath. He was a man who trusted in the goodness, mercy and compassion of God because he trusted His Word. As a child of the King, he was righteous.
